Join us for a day of Fun and Discovery!

What to Wear

  • Comfortable Clothing: Dress for an active day outdoors.

  • Closed-Toe Shoes: For safety and comfort while participating in activities.

  • Hat & Sunglasses: To protect from the sun during the outdoor activities.

  • Sunscreen: Essential for sun protection throughout the day.

  • Layered Clothing: The weather might change, so bring a light jacket or sweater.

What to Bring

  • Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated! We encourage environmentally friendly options.

  • Snacks/Picnic: While food trucks will be available, it’s a good idea to bring extra snacks for kids.

  • Blanket or Lawn Chair: For resting in between activities or enjoying the exhibits.

  • Cash/Card for Food Trucks: For grabbing a bite to eat at the food trucks.

  • Camera/Phone: Capture memories of the fun activities and exhibits!

  • Bag/Backpack: To carry personal items and any giveaways or prizes from the event.

  • Protective Gear for the Egg Drop Contest: If you're participating, bring your prepped eggs and any materials needed to cushion the fall.

Additional Tips

  • Prepare for Hands-On Fun: Be ready to build air rockets, explore animal exhibits, and enjoy interactive science demonstrations.

  • Bring Enthusiasm: It’s a day full of excitement and learning for the whole family!

Parking

Science in the Park is located at CSUEB in Hayward at the Music Lawn area of the campus near the Pioneer Amphitheater. 

Parking is available at Lot K and Lot H

Egg Drop Challenge

The egg drop challenge is a long standing tradition of the Science, Earth, and Health Fair, and has carried over to Science in the Park.

 

Design and build your egg drop challenge container at home and bring it to Science in the Park with your raw egg! Hayward firefighters will drop your container from a 60ft fire engine ladder. See if your egg can survive the fall!

Submit your egg at the booth by 11 AM.
Egg Drop Begins at 12 PM.

Rules

  • Must bring your own egg already packaged.

  • Egg must be raw.

  • Packaging can be made from anything. We encourage you to use sustainable or recyclable materials!

  • Eggs and packaging will not be returned to you unless you are present.

  • Limit ONE (1) egg per participant.
